Basel SBB is the central train station of the Swiss city of Basel and it is operated by the Swiss Federal Railways, Deutsche ICE and Cisalpino. It is one of the major stations of Basel, next to the Basel Badischer Bahnhof train station. The Basel SBB train station is both national and international as it reaches destinations not only in Switzerland but also in Germany, France or Italy and it is considered the best station in the world. The station is part of the Basel S-Bahn, which has three lines inside the train station.
The station is located in the centre of the city of Basel and it is placed in a magnificent building which is considered to be part of the heritage buildings of the country. Right outside of the Basel SBB train station, travelers will find a major hub of the tram network of the city which is called Centralbahnplatz. A bus shuttle is also located outside the train station, so getting by it is rather easy.
