What to do in Rovaniemi

Rovaniemi is a travel destination mostly for two types of travelers: adventurous ones, who would like to experience life in this  remoted part of the world and families who come here for the holiday of their lives in the Santa Claus Village and Park.

Santa Claus Village, an extraordinarily popular touristic attraction, is located only 8 km outside Rovaniemi and is easily accessible by bus.

Another very well known touristic attraction is the Arktikum, a building which serves multiple purposes, as a cultural location, a museum and as a science centre. For the travelers who want to experience the life at the Artic Circle, this is where they will want to go for information on the culture and history of Lapland.

Another great location is Ounasvaara, where sport enthusiasts may try downhill skiing, country skiing as well as snowboarding.

Dog sleeding and snow mobile safaries are the cooles activities in winter time; watching the northern lights for yourself is also  a good reason for an arctic vacation.
