
Amersfoort Schothorst railway station is located in the northern part of Amersfoort, Netherlands. The station has been in operation since 1987, serving the suburbs of Schothorst, Rustenberg, Liendert, De Hoef, and Zielhorst. It is operated by and part of the (NS) Nederlandse Spoorwegen line and was built for service alongside Amersfoort’s main railway station.
Schothorst later built a third track for the terminus to service trains coming from and departing to Amsterdam Centraal, Hoofddorp and Alkmaar. In 2006 it became necessary to open a second small station, Amersfoort Valhorst, in northern Schothorst, to serve the additional suburbs. The third track which was built is currently used for trains coming from and departing to Rotterdam Centraal.
Intercity Trains departing from Amsterdam Centraal and Hilversum arrive twice an hour in Amersfoort Schothorst. The Stoptrein arrives from Utrecht Centraal, Overvecht, Bilthoven, and Den Dolder two times an hour; the 5800 Stoptrein from Amsterdam Centraal, Amsterdam Muiderpoort, Diemen, Weesp, Naarden, Bussum and Hilversum arrives twice an hour on weekdays, except evenings or weekends.
Schiphol Airport lies 45.1 km north west, and Rotterdam Airport is 67.2 km south west. Amersfoort Schothorst has connecting bus services to several locations via Connexxion Lines, City bus line 4 and the regional line CS 103.
